The Valley Girls & Guys Breast Health Fund is dedicated to helping uninsured and underinsured patients in our region get timely access to breast cancer screening by providing financial assistance towards mammograms.  This fund began as a grassroots effort led by a local area breast cancer survivor, who firmly believed it was the lifesaving gift of early detection that gave her options in her fight against breast cancer.  To date, the program has supported 110 people through breast cancer screening.

FUNDING

Provides up to $1,000 financial assistance for mammograms to eligible individuals.  

*Payments are made directly to supplier of services.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:  
Applicant must:
  • Uninsured, underinsured*
  • Live in South King County
  • Individuals may apply once every 12 months based on last payment date
*You may be underinsured if your health plan does not cover cancer screening or you can’t afford the out-of-pocket costs to get screened.
THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE APPLYING:
Only online applications through our grant portal will be considered. Handwritten or email submissions will
 not be reviewed.
For us to begin the process of qualifying you for financial assistance, please complete the application.
Upon receipt of your completed application, VGG! will determine if you are eligible for financial assistance based on our Program Guidelines and subject to available funding. If you qualify and if funding is available, we will provide up to $1,000 financial assistance toward your mammogram for the current calendar year. Please understand that all approvals are based on available funding and are approved on a first-come, first-served basis. Receipt of application does not guarantee funding.

We are proud to work with the Valley Medical Center (VMC) Breast Center and Vantage Radiology for provision of these services. Applicant acknowledges this will include the release of protected health information between Valley Girls & Guys! and Valley Medical Center.
